it's time to turn the tv off
and listen.
that noise?
what is it?
maybe it's only crickets.
maybe it's distant music.
maybe people are dancing
somewhere not far from here,
the beloved among them.
out into the street-
we need to investigate,
to find out what's there.
even if it's only crickets.
